Weymouth

Portland Bill lighthouse from the land this time.

Dear Readers, a picture round for you of what we have been doing in lovely Weymouth over the weekend. Our friends Barbara and Peter had a car so we all drove to Portland, Chesil Beach, had a blustery cup of tea and cakes on the front at Chesil followed by fish and chips on the boat.

I took the train on Sunday to Poole to meet up with my sister Deidre, and on the way back that evening I had a swim on the lovely sandy beach at Weymouth.

We made friends with our neighbours on Caveman who had rafted up next to us, and turns out he was a marine engineer, so Josh and Nick got on rather well over a few Sunday night beers! They were off at 5am on Monday morning for Cork, we had a lie in until 9 as we were off to Poole.

Today is Monday 4 July and we are now in Poole, but I will tell you about that in my next blog.

Large Portland stone at the Bill.

The colourful and quirky café where we sat outside and had tea and cakes on a rather chilly and windy Chesil . The edge of Portland Bill with strange beach huts in the background.
