Day 122 goodbye blog

Sunset in Whitby

Well it's time to say goodbye and as you can imagine it is tinged with sadness as well as happiness. Looking back the trip was not how I had imagined it to be, mainly because of the bad weather that has dogged us for the whole four months. I have a large box of summer clothes and shoes I haven't worn and hardly any outdoor swimming was accomplished. However the places we have been to and the people we have met along the way have made it all worthwhile.

We are driving back tomorrow and will be saying goodbye to the boat but we plan to be back again in about 6 weeks time and we will be popping up to see her every now and then between now and May next year.

We have also enjoyed hosting all our friends and family who have joined us for legs of the trip, so thanks to Dee and Steve, Jo and Jo, Andrew, Jo and Owen, Pauline, Mick and Linda, Frank and Steph who all made the effort to join us and help us on our way. We also had land visits from Scott and Tania in Lowestoft, Frank in Whitby , Lianne in Fraserburgh, Mark Nolan in Inverness, Peter and Olivia in Hull and Sue and Colin in Edinburgh and Glasgow!  We hope you enjoyed your visits and trips with us as much as we enjoyed having you. It is always lovely to see friendly faces from home when you are away for long periods. It will be four months to the date of leaving when we get back and I am looking forward to being home again and catching up with friends and family but nevertheless sad to say au revoir to Lunar Sea.

See you all again soon and the blogs will resume next year, with possibly the occasional one in between. Love to all from Julia, Josh and Lunar Sea.
